Green Living

In the market for eco-friendly cleansing products? I love the kitchen line from Caldrea because this company takes special care to enforce earth-friendly practices and their products are fantastic!

The Green Team at Caldrea enforces solutions to help them reduce their paper and gas usage. They do not test on animals and all of their liquid products are biodegradable. Additionally, Caldrea uses packaging that is recyclable.

We carry their kitchen line including countertop spray, dishwashing liquid, hand soap, hand lotion and some candles. We also stock their Linen spray as well.

Their fragrances include: Basil Blue Sage, Lavender Pine, Green Tea Patchouli, Ginger Pomelo, and Sea Salt.

I love their Sea Salt countertop spray. It makes my whole kitchen smell so fresh and clean!

The Benefits of Soy Wax Candles

Soy Wax is 100% vegetable by-product that is completely non-toxic and non-carcinogenic. Soy candles produce little or no soot damage to the sorrounding room or to those with allergies. Soy not only burns cleaner, but slower too. A soy candle can burn up to twice as long (sometimes even more!) than paraffin, giving you twice the candle. Because soy wax burns very clean, you'll get a cleaner sent as well!

One of my favorite lines of soy wax candles that we carry is Aquiesse. Because of the longer lasting burn time of soy wax, the small travel tin burns for over 50 hours! They have several fantastic frangrances, but their Luxe Linen is my personal favorite. We picked up a few new fragrances in this line at market that should be arriving soon!

One of the new products I am most excited about getting are French Laundry's grain sack pillows.

These rough linen pillows replicate the vintage European grain sacks that have been so popular in recent years.

She offers several different fabric designs available in pillows and also upholstery fabric.

I love this look and am so excited that we will have it in stock in a few short weeks!

Legna Sheets...The Ultimate in Luxury

I am a self-proclaimed sheet snob, in fact most of us here at Three Sheets are and it is primarily the fault of Legna sheets by SDH. After purchasing a set of these sheets, I don't think I can go back to sleeping on anything else. They have the smooth lucious feel of silk, yet they wash and wear like cotton. Legna Sheets are woven in Italy and are made 100% Italian wood fiber.

It is impossible to describe how divine these sheets are unless you experience them for yourself! We have people all the time that only buythe cases to take home and try, then return the very next day to purchase the entire set. There is simply nothing else like them! They come in a wide variety of colors and are made to fit extremely deep matresses. Come check them out for yourself! I promise, you will not be dissapointed. It is definetly a worthy investment because it's like we always say around here...good sheets bring couples together...

Who's Counting?

Before I worked at Three Sheets I, like many people, did not fully understand why thread count is not just what to look for when buying sheets. I always thought that the higher the thread count, the better the sheet. After I started working here, I began to understand that there are many other factors that comprise a quality sheet. Sadly...(sigh) many people often choose their sheets based on thread count alone.

One of the main factors that determines the quality of a sheet is the cotton used to construct it. On their website Sferra explains that, "Egyptian cotton is the finest cotton because it is one of the longest staple cottons in the world, the staple being the indivuidual cotton fiber. The longer the fiber, the better it can be spun into smoother and stronger yarn." You can find sheets anywhere that will boast a 1000 thread count, yet they may feel rough because the quailty of the cotton or the finishing process was poor.

Sferra, one of our top sheeting lines, recently launched a campaign called "Lose Count" which explains different types of sheeting, what to look for in a quality sheet, and what sheet coule be right for you. Friend them on Facebook to learn more about what makes a great sheet!

So friends, the moral of the story is...you can't judge a sheet by it's thread count.
